Montfort, Ontario’s only francophone academic hospital, is seeking passionate Emergency Physicians to join its dynamic and dedicated team. Recognized for its clinical excellence, person-centred approach, and commitment to innovation, Montfort offers a stimulating work environment where collaboration and continuous improvement are at the heart of practice.
Montfort’s Emergency Department welcomes more than 50,000 visits annually, providing high-quality care to a diverse population. Approximately 8% of visits are related to mental health concerns, proportionally twice the rate seen in other hospitals in Ottawa and across the province. To better meet these needs, a dedicated Mental Health Emergency Zone was opened in 2024, where specialized mental health nurses provide expert patient care.
Our interdisciplinary approach includes a geriatric nurse, social worker, occupational therapist, and clinical educator, ensuring comprehensive care tailored to each patient’s needs.
The majority of patients seen are classified as CTAS 2 and 3, requiring urgent medical attention. As a teaching hospital, we have a strong clinical team with quadruple physician coverage during peak hours (11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.), ensuring timely access to specialized care. The hospital also has an intensive care unit and offers a broad range of specialties, including general and orthopedic surgery, gynecology, internal medicine, mental health, gastroenterology, urology, respirology, and more.
