Positions Summary:

The Painter is a hands-on production role responsible for preparing and applying industrial coatings to steel and metal components across a variety of manufacturing projects. Working within the Painting Division, you will carry out masking, surface preparation, sandblasting, and painting tasks to a high standard, ensuring finished products meet quality and safety requirements.

This is a physically demanding role suited to an experienced industrial painter who can work independently, follow direction, and adapt to a fast-paced manufacturing environment with rotating shifts.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Masking
  • Preparing pieces for paint and /some sandblast as required
  • Painting
  • Other related duties as assigned by the manager or foreman

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • 5+ experience in industrial painting (steel and other metals)
  • Experience operating overhead bridge cranes is considered an asset
  • Experience operating a forklift

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of safe working practices (i.e. with solvents) and WHMIS Regulations.
  • Good communication skills. 
  • Must be able to use all equipment safely.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding position and lift 50lbs.
  • Ability to take direction and carry out work independently.

 

Special requirements:

  • This is a physically demanding position and working at heights may be required.
  • Must be flexible with shifts (night, day and evenings).
  • Must have steel toed safety boots and coveralls to start.

 

We offer competitive wages ($39.07-$41.67/hr) and comprehensive benefits. Remuneration and benefits plan as per the collective agreement.
