The Staff Pharmacist at GBGH is a vital member of the Health Care Team working in a collaborative environment with Pharmacy technicians and other health care professionals. Registered pharmacy technicians largely support drug distribution freeing up the pharmacists to focus on patient pharmacotherapy monitoring and education, antimicrobial stewardship, drug information and ensuring patient safety with respect to medication management.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate will possess the following key competencies:
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
- Current registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (Part A) and current license to practice in Ontario
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Nature of work requires the ability to:
- multitask in a busy environment
- support pharmacy technicians with drug distribution and collection of the BPMH
- work independently and in an inter-professional team setting
- provide direct patient care supported by accurate and concise documentation
- collaborate with other pharmacists daily to ensure positive patient outcomes
- Experience with Meditech Expanse preferred
- Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history

- Hospital Residency or Hospital Pharmacy experience
HOURS OF WORK
Permanent Casual. Must be available to work shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per the OPSEU collective agreement.

- Hourly rate of pay $48.21 – $64.50, up to an additional 14% in lieu of benefits and 6% in lieu of vacation to start.
