Service Electrician – D.D. Mac Electric

Location: GTA, Ontario

 

Company Overview

Our company is a full-service electrical contractor operating throughout southern Ontario with a team boasting over 40 years of experience across all phases of electrical construction.

 

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Service Electrician to join our team in the GTA area. In this customer-facing role, you will be responsible for responding to industrial and commercial service calls, performing installations, maintenance and repairs of electrical systems on-site, either independently or with a partner.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct industrial and commercial service work, including troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades, installations and maintenance.

  • Read and interpret diagrams, wiring layouts, and service drawings.

  • Provide high-level customer service; communicate effectively with clients, site staff and project stakeholders.

  • Use tablets or mobile devices to review drawings, record time/expenses, and produce invoicing on-site.

  • Work safely and efficiently in a variety of environments (alone, or with a team of two) and ensure compliance with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code and all applicable regulations.

  • Identify problems, propose solutions and escalate any issues beyond service scope.

 

Qualifications

  • Licensed Electrician (309A or equivalent).

  • 5+ years of field experience in industrial/commercial service environments.

  • Comfortable working independently and in pairs; able to take initiative and manage time effectively.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; professional and customer-oriented.

  • Proficient with tablets or mobile devices, able to review drawings, input data and complete site invoicing.

  • Strong problem-solving ability; comfortable working in dynamic service calls and quickly diagnosing issues.

  • Familiarity with industrial/commercial electrical systems is an asset (motors, control panels, lighting, wiring, troubleshooting).
