Operational Excellence/Lean Facilitator
Reports To: Director of Training Services (Prairies)
Direct Reports: None
Travel: up to 75% in MB,AB,SK as required.
Position Summary:
This role is a two-year contract role. Provide Training and support primarily to CME external members. CME Lean facilitators work closely with manufacturers, supporting them in their operational Excellence journey. The role delivers training, assessments, and coaches the organization on its operational excellence journey. This contract role will support the development and pilot of new programs related to technology adoption, sustainable supply chain, reliability, and AI adoption.
Location: Alberta (remote).
Duties and Responsibilities:
Training Facilitation
Own, prepare, and deliver Lean 101
Own, prepare, and deliver the Lean Level 1 (Yellowbelt Program)
Own, prepare, and deliver the Lean level 11( Greenbelt Program)
Own, Prepare and deliver Supervisory Leadership programs
Own, prepare, and deliver operational assessments.
Own, prepare, and deliver reliability training programs.
Facilitate the delivery of a Lean consortium
Customize and tailor to individual manufacturers’ needs for private training delivery upon request with support.
Provide Lean program development support to members
Work with the CME Facilitators and partners across the country to ensure methods and messages are consistent
Actively support business development by raising awareness of and filling out CME Training Programs and Workshops.
Prepare, own, and deliver CME Sustainable Supplier training
Maintain positive, constructive relationships with all manufacturing members and clients while coaching members on operation excellence best practices. Ensure that the coaching adds value to the members’ business operations.
Compile and share success stories
Other
Support the Lean Champion in the promotion of Lean among Canadian manufacturers.
Provide information to prospective CME members on the entire program and services provided by CME
Promote CME events and programs
Support and attend CME events as required
Actively participate and lead continuous improvement initiatives within CME.
Qualifications:
Adult Instructor/Education certification is an asset
Minimum 9-12 years of manufacturing managerial experience, preferably with 3-5 years of Lean implementation experience.
Industry experience in Agriculture, Food processing, fabrication in the defense supply chain, or aerospace preferred.
3-5 years of commissioning equipment and/or technology in a manufacturing setting preferred.
Proven project management skills, including the ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and meet strict deadlines; strong attention to detail and the ability to work with colleagues are essential.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with all stakeholders—internal and external—are essential. A proven ability to build consensus and work effectively within a team is also a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
Holds a strong desire to uphold CME’s standard for continuous improvement, ethics, and integrity within the CME team and with all outside vendors, clients, and customers.
